Easter Egg Hunt Supplies Needed: Please deliver individually wrapped candies
(non-chocolate and non-melting), stickers, novelties and miscellaneous small items to the church office by April 6. The egg hunt will be held on April 13, 11:45 am.

Easter Sunrise Service: All Middle School and High School youth are invited to take part in planning and leading the Easter Sunrise Service, which will take place on April 20 at 7:00 am in McPhail Hall. Rehearsals will take place on Sundays, March 30, April 6 and April 13 from 9:45 - 10:15 am in the Youth Sunday School Room (Room 207). You do not need to be an active member of the youth Sunday School or PYF to participate.

Sign up for Easter Lilies: Purchase your Easter lilies from the Brookwood Community by signing up on the order form in the Narthex. Your checks can be delivered to the church office or placed in the offering plate. The lilies can be taken home after the Easter morning 10:30 service. The lilies cost $12 each.

Women’s Bible Study: The Bible Study will meet Tuesday, April 1, in Room 205 studying Lesson 8 Temptation along the Way (Exodus 32:1-34; 10; Deuteronomy
6:10-25). All ladies are invited, led by Rev. Linda Herron, 9:30 am – 11 am.

Book Group, Thursday April 3*New Date*: Please join us as we begin discussing our new book: No God but My God: The Origins, Evolution and Future of Islam by Reza Aslan. We’ll discuss the first 2 chapters. Everyone is welcome.

St. John’s Breakfast, Saturday, April 5: Everyone is invited to McPhail Hall at 8 am for freshly baked pancakes. At 8:30 the guest speaker, Tom Gwillim, will explore art collecting, history of print making and will share some of his own art collection and expertise.


Michael Bisase, Relay for Life: Our own Michael and his team will be participating in the Relay for Life of Sugar Land, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, on Friday, April 11. The Relay for Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk. Learn how you can help support his walk by talking to Michael or Felicity or by visiting his on-line page, www.relayforlife.org; click on participant, and type in his name.

Foundation Repair Update: The scheduled foundation repairs, Building II and McPhail Hall, were cancelled due to bad weather. St. John’s is working with the company to reschedule the repairs.

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services Annual Fundraiser Luncheon:
St. John’s office, 713-723-6262, is taking reservations for the Wednesday, April 30 lunch at the Junior League. Lunch is served from Noon to 1 pm and carpooling will be available from St. John’s. Please confirm your reservation by March 30.

Organic Community Garden
Highlights from our March 9 meeting:
- We plan to build 4 plots soon, maybe within the next 4-8 weeks;
- We should know about our grant applications soon – PC(USA) and Lowe’s; and
- Watering Teams will be our most important team when the first gardens are built.
You can check out our progress at installing our new watering lines near the sanctuary parking lot. We will meet again in the next few weeks and everyone is invited.

Vacation Bible School: Mark your calendars for our Vacation Bible School, Sunday June 29 through Thursday, July 3, starting at 6 pm. There will be programs for all ages.

The project is moving forward and includes ideas for garden design, financing the project, sub-committee formation and gardener participation. Would you like to join this group and help with this exciting new project? Everyone is welcome to come to our meeting today after church in the Session Room. March 2 Sunday Highlights

Children’s/Youth Choir and Youth Hand Bells: All children and youth are invited to the Sanctuary today, 11:45 am – 12:15 pm. This rehearsal is the first time the choir and the hand bells will play together.

Women’s Bible Study, Tuesday, March 4: The Bible Study Circle will meet Tuesday in Room 205 studying Lesson 7 Covenant Living (Exodus 20-23; Deuteronomy 6:1-9). All women are invited to join the Bible Study, led by Rev. Linda Herron, 9:30 am – 11 am

Committee Reports Due: Please send your February committee minutes to the church office (office.sjpc@gmail.com) for the upcoming Session Report. The report will be issued on Monday, March 10 for the Tuesday, March 11 Session Meeting.
