new book, The Hole in Our Gospel: What
Does God Expect of Us? The Answer that Changed my Life and Might Just Change
the World, by Richard Stearns. Mr. Stearns is President of World Vision.
St. John’s Community
Garden: We have completed 6 garden beds and our gardeners are planting
summer vegetables. Our group now includes ~15 gardeners. If you are interested
in participating, please contact Claire MacAdam, Tom Gwillim or Mary Gaber. We
hope to continue to expand our garden in the near future by adding more garden
beds, inviting PCHAS residents to participate, and eventually adding a prayer
area near the garden. Come and see our garden grow!
Usher Opportunities: The Worship Committee is looking for ushers
for the upcoming summer months (June, July, August and September). Volunteer by
signing the Usher list in the Narthex, talk to Lynne Parsons Austin, or call
the church office, 713-723-6262.
These Days: The May and June These Days devotional booklets are available in the Narthex.
Vacation Bible School: Mark your calendars for our Vacation Bible
School, Sunday June 29 through Thursday, July 3, starting at 6 pm. There will
programs for all ages.
