St. John’s Breakfast— Saturday, January 8
Come start the New Year with a wonderful breakfast at 8 am and stay to hear a speaker at 8:30 am from Bayou Bend, “Miss Ima: The Great Texan and Collector.” It will be a good opportunity for those of us who have lived here a long time, as well as newcomers to the Houston area, to learn more about this wonderful place. There will be a slide show in addition to the speaker’s special thoughts and words to us. Please make note of the date: the second Saturday, not the first Saturday of January.
Upcoming programs:
February 5: George Gaston, new C.E.O. of Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest, will get us updated on new hospital facilities at Southwest.
March 5: Teresa and Doug Darr, our marvelous resident architects, will take us through a typical week of their work.
April 2: Houston Mayor Annise Parker will talk about the the state of the city and answer questions from the audience after her talk. Come and bring a friend.
