Weekly Reminders: January 29
St. John’s Breakfast, Saturday, February 4: All are invited for breakfast at 8 am. At 8:30 Officer E. J. Joseph from the Houston Police Department will present a program for us entitled "Home Safety." We hope you will attend and bring a friend or neighbor. If you need transportation, please call Linda Dobbin at 281-778-5348.
Blood Drive, Sunday February 5: Make a commitment to help others by donating blood, 8 am – 12 noon, Room 209. This is St. John’s 62nd blood drive!
Souper Bowl Sunday, February 5: Make sure your pre-game plans include lunch in McPhail Hall following Worship. Lunch will consist of many different soups, including our famous traditional “Stone Soup.” St. John’s youth is asking the congregation to bring a favorite fresh or canned ingredient to the kitchen before church to be added to our vegetable stock.
56th Anniversary Celebration planned for October: Please put on your thinking caps, delve into your memories, and help me put together a panorama of memorabilia, photographs, poetry, music, any and all remembrances of our wonderful church. Please contact me with any ideas or items. Linda Dobbin
Lenten Class: Everyone is invited to join Pastor Jon in an 8-week Lenten Course called Unbinding the Gospel. The course will begin the first Sunday of Lent, February 26 at 11:45 am. The study will include 6 weeks of prayer with a prayer partner and 40 days of praying through a prayer journal which will help you move closer to God and grow as a Christian.
Delicious Peace Coffee Available: St. John’s has replenished its supply of organic and free-trade coffee from the Peace Kawomera Fair Trade Coffee Cooperative, Uganda. See the varieties of coffee in the bookcase across from the church office, Building 2.
Mr. Bob’s Crew, February 6 & 24: Please gather in McPhail Hall at 10 am – 12 pm to work with fellow St. Johners on light maintenance and repair around our campus. Coffee and muffins will be served.
