St. John's Weekly Reminders, December 20

Presbyterian Women’s Holiday Bake Sale, Today, December 20: Shop early and get your homemade holiday goodies.

Blood Drive, Today, Sunday December 20: Make a difference this holiday season and donate blood. One donation can save four lives! No appointment is necessary; just walk into Building I.

St. John’s Sock Trees: Two Christmas trees (one in the Narthex and one outside the church office) are in need of their holiday decorations – socks! Children’s socks infant to kindergarten size are needed, or let Joan Navratil shop for you.

Flower Calender: Please sign your name on the Flower Calendar in the Narthex to reserve your special Sunday for giving flowers in the Sanctuary for 2010.

KEEP THE PENNIES COMING (Pennies for Peace)
At the Living Gift Market, there were 30,160 pennies collected ($316.00) for schools in Pakistan. The penny jar is in Building II.

Session Highlights – At their meeting on December 17, your Session:
* Applauded Mary Sterner for achieving the rank of Asso. Educator Certification.
* Sustained the examination of oncoming elders Bill Ehrenstrom and Jenny Glover.
* Approved a Memorandum of Understanding for use of our church facilities with the United Ghanaian New Church Development.
* Approved the pastor to be away from December 26 through January 2.
* Appointed Dave Nelson as our laison to the United Ghanaian New Church Development.
* Thanked the elders who are rotating off the Session after three years of service: Barbara Brisch, Katie Coughlen, Suzette Harrel, and Marie Kutz.
