Outreach Ministries Monthly Column

We want to share with you a letter we’ve received from Rev. Mark Downs, chair of New Covenant Presbytery’s Outreach Committee.

“It is my pleasure to share that the Outreach Committee of PNC has awarded the grant you requested from our Peacemaking program. Your Mustard Seed Program sounds like a program that will not only help people in their lives but will also inspire new ways to minister to people and motivate the rest of us to think outside the box. Please share how the 10 participants use their funds and the results of it. I’m sure there will be some good stories coming out of it.

Let me share that I’m personally so very impressed with the ministry you all do at St. John’s. You guys just keep reaching out with the hand of Christ touching lives and transforming them.Remember we as a presbytery are all pulling together. Let us know how we can help.”

St. John’s Outreach Ministries Committee is very grateful to have received several grants from presbytery for some of our special programs: Support for Living Waters for the World; a matching grant for Mustard Seed; support for Partners in Educational Advocacy; support for Kathie’s Hartzog’s July trip to the Lulwanda Children’s Home in Uganda.

Each of these grants blesses programs that reach out with Christ’s love to people in our community and in the world. — Phyllis Freeman
