Ann Sivia Kumala Quiser, age 96, died Wednesday, January 27, 2011 at Holly Hall Christian Retirement Community in Houston, Texas. She had been a resident of Holly Hall Christian Retirement Community for ten years, eight months and twenty-seven days. She died one day short of her ninety-seventh birth. Ann was born in Virginia, Minnesota on 1-28-1914 to Axel and Susanna Kumala. She married George Quiser in 1931.
She is survived by a daughter, Ardell Stimson, Houston, Texas and a son, David Quiser of Cook, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her son Myron and his wife Lorna, and three brothers and two sisters. She has eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Ann took pleasure in her Finnish heritage and the ability to speak, write and read this difficult language and made several trips to Finland to connect with her Finnish roots.
