Gardening Skills Training

A leading provider of gardening education in the Houston area is Urban Harvest, which has for a long time provided courses in garden construction, growing fruits and vegetables, starting community gardens, and more.  They also host the Permaculture Guild of Houston's Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) class.  Urban Harvest is offering several classes including Hands-On Canning and Preserving (Saturday, September 10), Urban Farming (Thursday, September 15), and Natural Beekeeping (Saturday, September 17).  The Fall module of the PDC class, Designing Bountiful Gardens using Permaculture, starts October 9, and the two prerequisite classes (Sustainable Living Through Permaculture 1 & 2) are on September 25 and October 2.  More information and registration (there is a fee) for all these classes can be found on the Urban Harvest education. calendar.
