sanctuary this Thursday, July 15, at 2 pm for a service of witness to
the resurrection and a celebration of Eleanor's life. A reception will
follow in Fellowship Hall. Eleanor and her husband, Travis, joined St.
John's on January 22, 1961. Eleanor died at Holly Hall last Saturday
evening. Travis died about 20 years ago. They were both active and
committed members of St. John's for many years. Eleanor was seen by
many of her church friends at the choir concert on July 4 which she
attended. We give thanks to God for Eleanor's life and pray for her
family as they mourn her death. Rev. Bob Murphy will lead the Memorial
Service this Thursday while Pastor Jon is out of town. Later this
summer, Pastor Jon will lead a committal service for the family of
Eleanor and Travis as both of their cremains are placed in our church
columbarium.
